Buzzin’ on Tuesday

What has gotten into me with all these ‘bug’ shares lately. I think it is all the green and growing natural I have been doing that is inviting all the wonderful creatures into my growing zone.

And just when you think you have seen it all this little guy is truly doing his thing with my blue bloom. I think this image share just became the ‘Photo of the Week’. What do you think?

It has been a busy week and I have lots to share from my garden and a garden events I recently covered. Be sure to stop back to take a peek and hopefully be inspired!

A Quick Photo of the Week

On the drive home tonight I captured this image above with my cell phone.

Super busy in the garden preparing for a 4th of July party to be held at our place. The images above were also from my cell phone that I shared on Twitter this afternoon while working. Quick share from the quick landscape project. Proven Winner shrubs always makes it super easy to put these fun landscaping gardens together. You will see more of these Hydrangeas and a special Spirea as they grow this summer. Olivia ( my Aussie) and I had this 5'x 9' section planted, mulched and even added a few big landscape rocks in less then 45 minutes!

If I don't return to my blog before the holiday weekend I want to wish you all a very Happy 4th of July! I really hope to return to share some of my yummy recipes I will be using during the weekend gatherings. Happy Gardening Friends - Bren

Photo of the Week

I was very excited to find a fuzzy bumble bee enjoying one of the last blue clematis blooming in the garden when I snapped this shot yesterday. As I sat down and started to flip through the image from the week with my Picasa program I feel in love with the photo below.

Obviously not for the quality of the image but for what the image represents. It is a capture from the bunny barn window with the sweet little petunias and verbena window box framing the view of one of the raised beds I am so very proud of. The raised bed in this image is growing mammoth dill herb and bush cucumbers.

This week I have decided to use both of these images as the Photo of the Week. I hope you don’t mind?

I hope you will stop back next week when I share another favorite image from my garden in the Midwest. Who knows, maybe you will get a double treat next week too! Thanks fr stopping by – Bren

Magnolia a prize to share!

I started this new share last week and had so many wonderful comments that I thought I would continue the trend.  This weeks spring photo of the week is going to be from the Magnolia tree that has taken full bloom and now begins to fall in such a short time.  This life cycle is not uncommon in my garden zone 5b.  We are usually pleased just to get a day of fabulous blooms from this tree.

The battle with the wind and the cold paid off.  After a few hours of taking photos I finally got one that I am happy with and I am going to share it with you ( image above).

(Click on the Image to read more about my adventure in Magnolia Photography)

I lied above…. this maybe my favorite shot of the Magnolia.   Some how I feel there are going to be more photos of this beauty in upcoming blog entries even though she is starting to fall.

Happy Spring Everyone – Bren ♥

Hopping Easter

6 week old Netherland Dwarf Himi’s are ready to play.

It has been super fun raising these Himi Netherland. They seem to much calmer then the other kits we have had in the rabbitry.  What luck to have these cute little white ones at Easter time.  Perfect little bunnies for Easter photo fun!

It was super easy to capture these little bunnies.  I don’t think I got one blurred shot because they were so very tame for the photo shoot.

This is one of my favorite captures before we tired them all out for the night.

Good Night Little Bunnies!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your Family and Friends. – Bren ♥

The Blues of Spring

We have quickly been thrown into Summer in our neck of the woods with temperatures that feel more like early summer.  The blooms are taking a beating with the full sun and sudden heat.  I am enjoying the time I have with the new spring blooms.  Everything looks so different through my new lens this year.  This is the first spring I can look closer into the early blooms with my Nikon D90 I became an owner of last May.

Be sure to stop and enjoy the spring blooms because they could be gone tomorrow – Bren ♥

This image was what I used as the Ad on the side bar.  This was the first week I featured this topic.  I look forward to sharing more ‘Picture of the Week’on my blog from my Garden in the Midwest.
