Stuck Behind a Truck Load of Tomatoes Going 15 MPH

I’m not sure how long that fully loaded truck sat in the tomato field but I can tell you it was longer then the time it took me to harvest my own home grown in my 40’x50′ veggie garden and process them for winter meals. This photo came to mind when I recently read ‘Fresh Tomatoes in a Flash: Taste the Difference’ at the Hunts Signature Recipe website.  I remember how upset I was the day I networked this photo because I got stuck driving 15 mph in a 55 zone. I happen to be late that day for a local school event.  After reading about Hunts Company committed to using the FlashSteam processing method I don’t EVEN want to know how long those tomatoes featured in that photo above sat in that hot field after being harvested just waiting to be shipped and later processed.

Just like I insure the best canned tomatoes  for my family from my harvest I grow each year Hunt’s harvest their  tomatoes at the peak of freshness. And all of the Hunt’s diced, whole, stewed, and crushed tomatoes go from farm to can in just a matter of hours.  If you don’t have time or the conditions to grow tomatoes of your own you might want to try the Hunts Brand.

Hunts uses no harsh chemicals : Hunt’s uses FlashSteam® to peel their diced, whole, stewed, and crushed tomatoes—instead of chemicals like some other brands. But their natural steam peeling is only part of the story. From the very day they’re picked to the time it takes to get them from the field to the can—it’s all about the details.   You can read more about the fresh difference at ‘Fresh Tomatoes in a Flash: Taste the Difference’

* Opinion is all mine but for legal reasons I have to note that I’m a part of the Hunt’s Brand paid partnership asked to share my opinion as a gardener about the Hunt’s Signature Recipe Collection. Now that I have that out in the open I hope you will Follow my shares  at the hashtag #HuntsRecipes on Twitter, Instgram and Pinterest where I’m sharing more about my Hunt’s Experience.

    • Thank you for stopping by my site Kylee. I kind of miss those loaded trucks with tomatoes now that winter temperatures have arrive in our neck of the woods.

  1. We never realize what we’ve got til it’s gone, like them fresh tomatoes from our garden.. Nice article! And yes, I love the Hunt’s brand b/c they don’t use the chemicals, and being a gardener who worries about that, it’s important NOT to have chemicals.. I thought there would be more comments on this, but, it is almost Thanksgiving.. Peeps are busy I guess.. Hope you have an awesome Turkey Day! Hugs!
