Friday Flaunt – Whats your Bloom?

I’m loving the blooms of my rows of zinnias out in the veggie garden. This hot red is from Mix pack by Burpee Seed that I purchased at Walmart for $1 . I have been enjoying these as cut flowers in my favorite vase in our home.

As I snapped some shots of what I have been waiting for most of the year a beautiful butterfly danced from bloom to bloom. Zinnias blooming are my favorite. Keep in mind, I had a macro lens on and camera on tripod. I was quit the trick getting photos of this butterfly as she danced!

The butterfly flutters from bloom to bloom as captured in this collage.

now…I have tried my brains out to get photos of a butterfly…and to grow a good zinnia…epic fail for the most part on both sides of that …lol

Trick to getting those butterflies to smile for you : USE A TRIPOD. Sometimes you have to hang out in the blooms for a little while till they land on the bloom you are focusing on. I have NEVER been able to go out to the garden with the goal of snapping a butterfly: it just happens! Thanks Tootsie for being such an awesome Greenhouse sister ((HUGS)) .

Butterflies and Zinnias compliment each other quite well, don’t you think? Nice captures.

  4. What fabulous photos of the butterflies on the zinnias.

I think the Monarch can ‘see’ better then the swallowtail. This little fellow was hard to take photos of but the swallowtail hung out and danced with me for ever! Thanks for leaving a comment Crafty!

Oh wow. Your photos are absolutely gorgeous. Great lens. I really miss my old Pentax. I may need to get it up and working again.

I love zinnia, too. Though this year I didn’t grow any. It was a very busy summer and some things, unfortunately, fell in the “Can’t fit it all in” list.

Thank you so much for sharing your stunningly beautiful photos. I enjoyed them very much.

The red zinnia is beautiful. I’m wondering how to incorporate my love of the English garden with palm trees. Any suggestions?
Plus, have you seen these? I love them!
