I’m not one to go about taking photos of bugs but this year has been an amazing year to capture some pretty interesting creepers. Maybe it is the absence of chemicals and keeping things natural that has invited these crawlers into the garden. No worries in the sharing department because this garden spider is harmless to people and helps keep the bugs away. I saw garden spider in the image above eat a beetle last night. ( yuck!) I share this photo because to me it captures the Art of a bug and inspires me to keep things growing as they should be – green!

But spiders are so cool and really good for the garden! That one’s a beaut!
I know…. isn’t this one AWESOME!!!! Thanks for stopping by Monica : great to have met you on the Garden Network!
What a colorful spider! Wow!
Great shot … the pattern this spider makes is just so beautiful. I get a similar creature here in my garden … the St. Andrew’s Cross Spider … and it makes a fabulous cross pattern. I sat and watched one weave its entire web one day … it was simply amazing!
How COOL is that? This guy keeps adding to his web – I think that is amazing!
This is a beautiful picture of this spider. We have this kind in our gardens or just around the house. We call them “Zipper Spiders” but not sure if that’s the real name. They are big. Usually here closer to fall in Maryland. Great Photography!
We used to have garden spiders like this. My youngest even named one; Veronka. Have no explanation on the name or where it came from, but whether it was male or female it was named.
Now someone in the South told me this was a Charlotte spider from Charlotte’s Web. Is this the case?
I have never heard of Charlotte Spiders : except the one in the book! It could be so thanks for sharing. We call this one simple a garden spider. We have wooly spiders up here too… they are just super gross! Fuzzy beasts that can get kind of big are the wooly spiders. Don’t mind if I never capture a photo of one of those if you know what I am saying ! LOL
Happy Friday Gardening to you – thank you for stopping by!
