Sometimes it is hard to really get the whole picture on blogs. My goal today is to share with you a little piece of what I’ve been up to this summer. What better way to do that then with a video?!
Not only do I grow in my 10′x12′ greenhouse all year long , 7 large raised beds, and landscaping filled with perennials and annuals, I enjoy growing food for my family in a traditional veggie garden. This year my goal was to cut cost while providing for my family all year round. We’ve also been working hard to learn how to keep things green to make our surroundings healthier. Please take a moment to check out my video below were I share what I have growing this first week of July in this country garden. I hope to give you some ideas and inspire you to grow something green.
Everything growing in this Traditional Veggie Garden I started from seed for under $15.
I realize not everyone has a large yard. BUT DID YOU KNOW that you can grow all these things in your in town lot? Seriously?!!! Check out my friend Shawna Coronado at her Casual Gardener blog. It can happen for you – grow your own and save money while keeping healthy!

With all these gardens to tend to I don’t usually find much free time. When I do find extra time to kick back my copy of the Green Gardener Guide is close to my favorite hammock in the shade garden. I have learned so many new ideas to keep my home and garden green reading this book. Thank you Joe!
Did I inspire you to get in the garden? Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or just want to add to my spam filter. IF you are interested in finding out more about starting seeds check out the links in this search : SEEDS .

Bren, it’s so awesome to have you support and to know you are enjoying the Green Gardener’s Guide while relaxing in your hammock. What a great combination and a fun pic! I was also thrilled to see the GGW icon you posted under your favorites in the right column of your blog. I must admit, it looks really good there! We love that you share our enthusiasm for “growing a greener world” and always enjoy reading your comments. You rock!
Thanks for showing your AWESOME garden Bren! Just beautiful! And BIGGGGG!!!
Thanks for the mention and keep up the good work!
Shawna
Thanks for the information. I’ve printed select parts of the Michigan tour.
I hope you can attend the up coming event at Four Star Greenhouse. Their beautiful gardens are open now for the public as well as participating in the Michigan Plant Tour. I guarantee you will take home a bunch of creative ideas!
I love starting all my plants from seed. You did all that with $15! WOW!!
some of the seeds I got a seed swaps for free! ( beans in the back row) and the about 9 of the tomato plants I received from a friend online.
Thanks for stopping by!
Thats good stuff you have got on this blog. Been hunting for details on this all over. Great blog
Bren, you are amazing! How do you find time to do anything but garden? That is a lot of veggie garden. I am so impressed. My little raised beds aren’t doing so well for me this year but I am forever an optimist. Maybe they are late bloomers. I have had a lot going on family wise and this heat wave has certainly gotten the best of my veggies. There is always next year. Keep up the good work going green. I liked Joe Lamp’les book also.
I am honored that you stopped by my little world Teresa! The funny thing is, that is only 1 of my gardens. This year I have also been experimenting with raised beds outside of the greenhouse. I will share that project this week when the video edit is done. I have so much editing to do from OFA short course that I attended on Sunday. Can’t wait to share all the new gardening products and people who make it happen shared during that show.
It sure appears so. Great stuff by the way!
What do you think of this garden? We like it
