Happy #bloom_tuesday

Passion Flower Bloom

I find it hard to believe that we are already on the second day of the work week. The days are just flying by as I spend most of the daylight hours out in the garden. What a fabulous season it is turning out to be. I knew this morning that I was going to share the Passion Bloom in the image above for #bloom_tuesday.
Most of the day I shared blooms via Twitter using my cell phone. WHY you may ask? Not only am I addicted to building my twitter network by attracting others who enjoy sharing the world of garden but I love to share my neck of the woods. Do a search for #bloom_tuesday and you will find my shares.

Passion Flower Vine that climbs the trellis on the pond deck.

This vine is new to my garden. It was a gift from my hubby on our 19th Wedding Anniversary this past May. We spent the day touring the Cleveland Botanical Gardens and a few Garden Centers in the Cleveland area. This was a vine we found at Petitti Garden Center in Avon Lake, Ohio. One of the helpful staff saw us checking this climber out and offered some advice. If it weren't for her telling us about this fabulous tropical vine I don't think we would have purchased it. It is growing in full sun on the gazebo deck near our pond. I will bring it into the greenhouse before the winter arrives.

Here is a short video I put together featuring some of my favorite images from our trip to the Cleveland Botanical Garden in May 2010.

I also want to note that I have been fertilizing this bloom with Haven Brand Compost Tea. Be sure to check out what organic fertilizer can do for your garden at Authenitic Haven Brand Natural Brew.
